Energy waste
Energy waste contains several types packaging, especially plastics. PVC plastics do not belong to the energy waste. Energy waste is used a fuel in co-compustion with traditional fuels. Collection of energy waste will diminish as the energy recovery of mixed waste will increase.

Handling
Energy waste is crushed and metals are removed at the treatment facilities. In addition also biodegradable, mineral and inert fraction may be removed. These fractions require further treatment.
Recycling and recovery
Energy waste is used as a fuel in co-compustion with traditional fuels to generate electricity and heat.
