Metal (metal packaging, small metal items): The recovered metal can be used in the metal and foundry industry for manufacturing many products. Recycled metal saves natural resources considerably.

Remember

Big metal scrap will usually only be accepted by manned collection points or touring collections. Such scrap includes bicycles, gutters, metal machines, furniture metal parts, metal pipes and cables.

Do not bring waste electrical and electronic equipment, they have their own collection.

Take packages that contain hazardous waste or are pressurised (e.g. paint, chemicals, medicine, hair spray) to your regional hazardous waste collection point.

Collecting and transportation

Household metal packages and small metal items are collected at Rinki eco take-back points. In addition, metal is collected at the waste collection area of most larger properties. Municipalities also operate supplementary regional collection points. In addition to fixed waste collection points, in many municipalities metal is collected by touring collection vehicles.

Recycling and recovery

Steel and aluminium packaging waste is provided as raw material for domestic an foreign metal industry. Recycled metal is used to manufacture new metal packaging as well as other metal products, such as bicycle frames, shovels and car spare parts.
